Greater Vallejo Recreation District Celebrates the Re-Opening of GVRD Main Recreation and Registration offices (Monday, April 15th 8am - 5pm, M-F, 395 Amador Street) a Local Community Renovation Project Shows the Benefits of Measure K Funds at Work Vallejo, CA.

The Greater Vallejo Recreation District (GVRD) announces the re-opening of the GVRD Main Office at 395 Amador Street in Vallejo. The office will house registrations and will now be the Recreation Services main office. Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and the Board Room are located next door at 401 Amador. We welcome the community to stop by and check out the newly renovated office on Friday, April 12th at 11am for a cup of coffee or cocoa and a pastry with the General Manager. The office will officially open for business beginning Monday, April 15, 2024, 8am - 5pm Monday – Friday, and from 9am-12pm on Saturdays in the summer (June-Aug).

About the project, it started a little under 2 years ago in September of 2022 and began with just the renovations of the restrooms to meet ADA compliancy. After doing an assessment of the facility it was found that there were asbestos and other toxic materials, which can be very harmful to staff and guests who work or visit the building. With safety as a priority, GVRD made the decision to renovate the building. The renovation included meeting new building codes, therefore upgrading the plumbing and electrical, widening of the hallways and doors, and reconfiguration of the main lobby for ADA. Other items were office modernization, HVAC, and restrooms. The project was funded through Measure K (parcel tax passed in 2012) and the general fund.

About GVRD The Greater Vallejo Recreation District (GVRD) is an Independent Special Service District and is funded primarily by property taxes paid by residents of the district to provide recreational activities and leisure services to the citizens of Vallejo.
