Subject: Greater Vallejo Recreation District Welcomes Newest Board Member.
Greater Vallejo Recreation District would like to announce the appointment of Olivia Ruiz to the GVRD Board of Directors. Ms. Ruiz was appointed by the Solano County Board of Supervisors' Cassandra James for a term ending December 5, 2029.
Olivia grew up in Solano County, and her dad was in the Air Force, stationed at Travis Air Force Base. She has been in Finance and the Public Sector for over 19 years. She has a master’s degree in business administration and currently works at Vallejo Flood and Wastewater District as their Finance Manager/Treasurer.
Outside the office, she enjoys hiking, fishing, and crabbing from the beach, supporting community events, and continuously learning about leadership and organizational culture.
Growing up, she saw how impactful recreational programs were for youth. She is excited to be part of the GVRD board and is committed to ensuring that parks, facilities, and program remain accessible, fiscally sustainable, and responsive to the needs of the community.
When asked his thoughts on the appointment, General Manager Gabriel Lanusse stated: “We are pleased to welcome Olivia to the board. Her experience in Special Districts and finance will be a valuable asset to our team.”
